The Municipality of Leamington will be taking the slow and steady approach to reopen its recreation facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The region entered Stage 3 last week, and the town has been busy putting together a plan of its own to reopen its recreation services.
Public access to the Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre remains restricted as the centre continues to host the COVID-19 Assessment Centre in the gym and emergency isolation pods in the Highbury Canco Rink.
Currently, the town is providing limited access for ice and pool rentals and has resumed some outdoor fitness classes under Phase One.
Phase Two of the town's plan will see access to the courts, fitness studio, gym, pool and weight room restored for those who register to use them in advanced this fall.
The plan would see a full restoration of services in the New Year and each stage will follow capacity restriction for physical distancing laid out by the province.
The town will be updating the plan as changes are made via its website.
