Charges have now been laid following an incident overnight Sunday into Monday that involved both Windsor police and the OPP.
The standoff between police and the suspect lasted 17 hours, ending around 12:30 p.m. when according to police, a man who had barricaded himself in a residence was arrested without incident.
Following a search of the home, police seized several items as evidence connected to the incident.
A 40-year old Windsor man is facing several charges including assault, assault with a weapon and breach probation.
City police were called around 7:15pm Sunday to a residential building in the area of McKay Avenue and Rooney Street, near Adie Knox Arena.
When police got to the scene they spoke to witnesses who had been inside the residence in question and learned a man barricading himself inside may have a weapon.
