The annual Face to Face campaign for The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County is back.

The 24th annual campaign kicked off Saturday and will run until the end of September.

This year’s campaign will once again raise funds in support of Hospice’s Fairley Family Transportation Program.

For many years, the Fairley Family Transportation Program has supported rides to medical appointments for Hospice clients, as well as rides to a variety of Hospice Wellness Programs.

It will also support The G.E.N.I.E. Program (Granting Exceptional N’ Impactful Experiences). This program offers the opportunity for patients receiving Hospice care, whether in Hospice Residences or in their own home, to request special trips or outings.

Katharen Bortolin, Executive Director of the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County, says they’re excited to launch this campaign again.

“To be back and have all the canvassers getting donations, and requesting donations on behalf of hospice, all of our community partners sharing the news, and sharing stories about the work that hospice does, and the impact on patients and families and what these rides really mean to people... it’s just a feel-good campaign all around.”

She says all the funds raised stay local.

“Because hospice is about 50 per cent government funded, 50 per cent fundraised, every single dollar means the world to us. We are so cognisant of where our dollars go and how we spend them, and to make sure that they go as far as they can, and have the biggest impact they can.”

Bortolin says they’re so thankful for the support year after year.

“Windsor and Essex County is just special. Our community is so giving and so kind, and believe in us so much. So, it wouldn’t be possible without our community... we just have an extra special group of people across Windsor and Essex County who are just so generous with their time, their treasures, their talents.”

The 2026 Face to Face campaign will operate similar to previous years, with canvassers able to collect donations both online and in-person.

The campaign runs from August 15 to September 30.

Last year’s campaign raised nearly $104,000. In 23 years, Face to Face has raised over $1.8-million for Hospice.
