For the 9th year people heading to the Ford Fireworks over the Detroit River will have a free ride on Transit Windsor.
Zehrs is sponsoring the event and presented a cheque for $15,000 to the city bus company.

Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens thanks the company for it's continued support:
"It's a very important service, a well used service and it costs money to do this," says Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens "and we thank our friends at Zehrs for that continued partnership we've had in the community to help make the experience for everyone coming down to the fireworks a very enjoyable one"
Transit Executive Director Pat Delmore says it's their busiest time during the year.

He says it's a well oiled machine after running the service for so many years.
"We gear up for between 25 and 35 busses," says DelmoreĀ "25 for earlier and and we get every operator and every bus that's available will be down there after the event"
Delmore says last year they moved about 18,000 people to and from the riverfront.
The busses leave Devonshire Mall June 26th and have a dedicated route along McDougall to get in and out of the downtown.
The sponsorship also allows all transit in the city to be free, so people can travel to and from the fireworks without having to take the shuttles.
