A group of five local kids, who have raised money for sick children, received some special recognition today.
At the start of the fifth annual Lemonade and Bake Sale at Windsor Regional Hospital, Mayor Drew Dilkens recognized them as 'community champions.'
They have set up a booth until 3pm Wednesday at the Met campus selling lemonade and baked goods with proceeds going to 'We Care For Kids.'
Avery Nosella, 12, says it is the right thing to do.
"I feel like really good helping other kids because they are sick in the hospital and I get to help them."
Jaxson Nosella, 12, says the goal is to raise more than last year's amount of $10,000.
Each child received a certificate from the city recognizing their dedication for the cause.
