The Wyandotte Town Centre Business Improvement Association is hoping to get some financial help from the city for a facelift.
It will be approaching Windsor City Council during budget deliberations on Monday looking for $1-million to begin the first phase of a streetscaping project from the downtown to the Walkerville area.
BIA Chair Tamara Kowalska says it would include banners across the street to create a world marketplace feel in the warmer weather along with new lights and posts.
She says the BIA has already committed $400,000 towards the project.
"What we want to see is a more lively main street," says Kowalska. "I mean Wyandotte is a main street in Windsor and we want to see more foot traffic and more activities."

Kowalska says it's a step-by-step process.
"I think that each phase will inform the next so I can't speak to phase four before we start phase one. What we need to do is make sure is that the membership collaborates and is involved every step of the way."
The ultimate goal is to have more trees and bump outs along Wyandotte Street.
The Wyandotte Town Centre BIA intends to begin phase one within a year.
