The University of Windsor Faculty Association is still voicing its displeasure when it comes to naming a new president.
A news release was issued by the university in March, naming Provost Douglas Kneale as interim president when Alan Wildeman steps down July 1st.
WUFA isn't denying that the board followed its bylaws when selecting a new president, and in fact believes that the rules were followed to a tee.
That being said, Internal VP, Stephen Pender says there is nothing that says there can't be consultation - and believes the university has an uneven commitment to transparency.
"On the one hand they embrace it when it suits their needs and on the other hand thy're opaque and they don't include us,
says Pender. "We built this place, we have a vision for this place, too. It's not just the president, the provost and other senior administrators - our members know what they want in this place and they haven't been asked."
Pender says all they know is that the search in January failed. "It's now April 17th, there has been once announcement in that time, 'the candidate we chose, chose not to come.' That's all we knew and that's not enough for our members."
During the State of the University address in January 2017, Alan Wildeman announced he was leaving the post saying it was the right time. He has been with the school since July 2008.
