There will be more Indigenous material at Windsor Public Library branches.
The board has agreed to use money raised during a recent book sale to purchase the new material.
Library CEO Kitty Pope says the board is following a recommendation made by Justice Murray Sinclair's Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada report.
The TRC report calls for libraries and Archives Canada to ensure that record holdings related to residential schools are accessible and to commit more resources to public education materials as well as programming.

Pope says the new material will be spread across the branches.
"More material in different branches and particularly attention to resources on residential schools and their impact on Canada," says Pope.
Pope says the new material will be added to the existing line-up.
"We have a strong collection right now but this will add to the resources," says Pope.
According to Statistics Canada figures in 2011, Windsor's Indigenous population was just over 8,200 residents or 3.7% of the total population. The closest residential school to the region was in Muncey, Ontario — west of London.
