Smoke alarms are being credited for saving the lives of a family in Chatham-Kent.
The Chatham-Kent Fire Department was called to Given Rd. around 5am Saturday morning.
Fire officials say working smoke alarms awoke two adults and a child who were able to escape the home safely.
It took dozens of firefighters from four stations to get the fire under control.
Chatham-Kent fire tweeted a couple of photos from the blaze with the caption, "Still need to be convinced working smoke alarms are important?"
