Construction is moving along at Windsor new $30-million reservoir.
The reservoir is located next to the AH (Bert) Weeks Water Treatment Plant on Wyandotte Street East.
EnWin's Vice President of Water Operations Gary Rossi says the work began in March.
He says the design/build project is on schedule.
"The reservoir is a $35-million litre reservoir and it's required for our storage capacity for our drinking water system," says Rossi. "If you drive by the corner of George and Wyandotte you'll definitely notice a power crane erected and that's to aim the building of this reservoir."
Rossi says the weather has assisted with the early part of construction.
"We had some, I guess because of the mid winter, they were able to get in a little earlier so definitely the schedule has been able to maintain accordingly," he says.
The Windsor Utilities Commission project includes three parts — the reservoir, piping to connect it and rehabilitation of the existing reservoir.
Work is expected to be completed by the first half of 2018.
