A re-branding is in the works for Amherstburg.
The town is in the process of gathering public input on what Mayor Aldo DiCarlo describes as, "Who we are and what we want to be."
Open houses were held Wednesday for the project which will include a new branding strategy, town logo and tourism website among other things.
DiCarlo says improvements can always be made.
"In the grand scheme of things, the town has got a lot of history and a lot of great attributes, but I'm not sure that we've really focused on how we brand the image of who we are."

He says it's all about drawing more visitors to the town.
"I see a lot of municipalities who have been very progressive in actually doing what we're doing now and it has been very successful for them. They have brought people in. Not only have they brought them there, but that means that we are losing some of those people to them."
DiCarlo says they're received more than 400 responses for an online survey as well.
"They've had great feedback and a great number of people respond which is fantastic. A lot of what we're doing here is trying to create a brand, an image when people are looking for someplace to live, someplace to visit, what is different about Amherstburg that people go, "Ok, I have to go there."
Town council has approved spending up to $75,000 on the branding strategy which is being handled by Cinnamon Toast New Media out of Ottawa and Hamilton.
The new town logo is expected to be unveiled sometime in December.
Online input is still being collected at www.talktheburg.ca.
