The best players in Canadian women's baseball are in Windsor this weekend.
The city along with Tecumseh Minor Baseball Association are hosting Baseball Canada's Women's Invitational Championship.
The tournament kicked off on Thursday afternoon and features teams from Quebec, Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario.
There will also be a team of 21-and-under prospects from across Canada.
Sport Tourism Officer Samantha Magalas says "there was no major hosting fee to bring this in so that was a plus for us, they actually provide a hosting grant to host it Baseball Canada does so that was a plus. We're a baseball city. I keep hearing and I know this as well but we keep hearing we're a baseball city and this is a great championship to bring here."
Essex's Jessica MacPhearson will play for Team Ontario.
Games will be played at Father Cullen Stadium. (at Mic Mac Park)
