A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Windsor-Essex for late tomorrow.
Environment Canada is giving people the "heads-up" to be ready for a sharp temperature drop and potential of snowy conditions.
Severe Weather Preparedness Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says the advisory was issued to help people prepare, dress accordingly and adjust their driving to handle the conditions.
"Because of our dropping temperatures during the afternoon Thursday and the fact we could be seeing some slippery road conditions in Windsor-Essex late afternoon Thursday or in the evening," explains Coulson.
He says conditions early Friday won't improve a lot with freezing temperatures overnight into Friday with flurry activity and icy patches on roads.
"It's going to drop the temperature to close to the freezing mark by probably 7 or 8 o'clock in the evening Thursday," says Coulson. "And the shower activity that would have been occurring before that transition could change to flurries and with that some icy patches on area roadways."
Coulson says areas to the north and east — Lambton, Chatham-Kent, Middlesex — will get the wintry conditions first because the system is coming from the north.
He adds we'll be back to more season conditions early next week.
