Dylan Larkin and Andreas Athanasiou scored shootout goals as the Detroit Red Wings slipped past the Sabres 4-3 in Buffalo.
Larkin scored twice in regulation and Tyler Bertuzzi also lit the lamp for Detroit, which blew 2-0 and 3-2 leads before snapping a nine-game losing streak.
Jimmy Vesey, Scott Wilson and Evan Rodrigues had third-period goals to get the Sabres even.
Rodrigues tied it for Buffalo in the final minute of regulation. The Sabres have lost five-of-six.
The Red Wings face off against the Blue Jackets Friday night in Columbus.
