Dropped on Drouillard is back for another year.
The one-day event takes place on Saturday, August 15 on and around Drouillard Road in Windsor’s Ford City.
Chair of the Ford City BIA Shane Potvin says it’s a rain-or-shine event.
“This is the ninth year of the festival; next year will be our 10th anniversary,” says Potvin. “We missed a couple of years during COVID, but this year we’re planning for a bigger festival than we have in the past, a much bigger footprint.”
He says there will be live music throughout the day.
“We have a large stage with live bands on Trenton; we have DJs on Whelpton; we have a skateboarding area; we have a car show in the Gino Marcus lot; and we have 40-plus vendors, patios, food trucks, live art, you name it,” he says.
Potvin says the festival grows every year.
“We’ve just seen it grow; the neighbourhood is growing,” says Potvin. “We see this as a bit of a yearbook for our neighbourhood. People can come and see; we have a lot of growth, and we have new businesses getting renovated, buildings with new businesses moving in, so every year it’s sort of a nice way to showcase the neighbourhood.”
The event is also offering a bike valet at the corner of Whelpton St. and Hickory Rd.
Dropped on Drouillard runs from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
