It is time to do something nice for someone else.
The Windsor-Essex Community Foundation is encouraging residents to take part in the 7th annual "Random Act of Kindness" day.
Speaking on AM800's the Morning Drive, Foundation Executive Director Lisa Kolody says this is a nation-wide event.
"It is happening all across Canada, from Nanaimo to Kitchener and here, so if you look at GloRAKDay on twitter you are seeing random acts of kindness happening all over."
Jonathon Allison with the foundation says it is about the simple things.
"It is the little tiny things like picking up a coffee, giving someone a cookie, buying them a chocolate bar or vacuuming a car."
It's about connecting with others, according to Kolody
"We are really trying to promote kindness and talk about community, sometimes we are a little hard on our selves or there is a lot of bad news out there so this is a chance to share the good news and as a foundation we host it but we are giving out cookies to meals on wheels and talk to all the secondary schools."
The foundation is also encouraging people to share their stories of kindness on social media.
The event started ten years ago in Kitchener-Waterloo.
