A Windsor worker wants the ability to use medical marijuana at work to help his anxiety and depression.
23-year-old Joshua Jacquot is currently on leave because his employer Ventra Assembly will not allow him to use CBD, a component in medical marijuana, at work.
Ventra Assembly is a supplier plant to the Windsor Assembly Plant.
He says CBD does not have the "high" effect that is in THC, another component in marijuana.
He says other options such as pill form or oil are also not allowed.
"I wouldn't necessarily need to smoke it, they do have oil that can be placed under the tongue and there are pill options, but my workplace advised me that I'm not allowed to have it on the premises because there is a no drugs policy in effect but it is not technically a drug because it is a prescription," he says.
"My human resources department said that I can go on prescription medication and I referred to fentanyl or Percocet and that would be fine and so how can that be fine."
He blames the government for not providing proper information to the public and employers.
Jacquot says he wanted his struggles made public because he says others are facing the same stumbling blocks in getting the necessary help they need.
