A Windsor woman who suffered serious injuries in a house fire has been transferred to a hospital in Hamilton.
Fire crews were called to the home which is divided into four apartment units at 1564 Hickory Rd near Seminole around 10:30pm Thursday.
They found smoke and flames in one of the units.
The Ontario Fire Marshal's office has been called in to investigate the cause and Investigator Dave Emberlin says the fire was limited to one unit.
"The fire originated on the second floor rear apartment and started in the living room," says Emberlin.
He says the woman was found by firefighters in the unit.
"A tenant on the ground floor heard the smoke alarm and got up and noticed smoke in the hallway and call 9-1-1," he says.
