After six years without an air show Windsorites will have their eyes on the sky once again.
Windsor is hosting Air Show YQG at its airport from May 27-28.
The show will feature a performance from the Internationally renowned Snowbirds Air Demonstration Squadron.
Air Show Director Paul McCann says the show will also help benefit the Kids with Cancer Top Guns Program.
He says there will be no shortage of activities at the show.
"People can expect family affordable entertainment," says McCann. "There is going to be lots to see both in the air and on the ground. In the air there is going to be a variety of military and civilian performers that will be putting on some displays. On the ground people will also be allowed to interact with the pilots."
McCann says the Snowbirds will be the highlight of the show.
"They are a national symbol," says McCann. "I think they are identified across the country and they are very well respected internationally as a world class aerobatic team. I think they are ambassadors not only for the country and the military, they are ambassadors for aviation. They are great with crowds and they love to interact with people."
He says the show will have strict security and will not tolerate any drone use.
"Regulations are very clear about drone use in proximity to an airport," says McCann. "I believe transport Canada regulations state that no drone is to be operated within a nine kilometre radius of an airport."
Cost of admission to the show is expected to be $25 per vehicle.
