The President of the Canadian Ball Hockey Association is in Windsor today, touring the WFCU Centre and the Capri Pizzeria Complex.
Steve Power is visiting the facilities after Windsor and the local ball hockey association won the bid to host the women's and men's, B, C and D division, National Ball Hockey Championships in July.
Power says it's the first time the event has been held in Ontario.
"It's happened in British Columbia two years ago, Newfoundland last year so we're figuring bringing it to Ontario this should be the biggest event yet," says Power. "I expect well over 20 teams."
According to Power, the event is expected to attract 30 teams and between 600 to 1000 players, coaches, executives and guests.
The event runs from July 19 to July 22.
