Windsor TFC and the LaSalle Stompers Soccer Club are signing a formal partnership meant to help better develop the next wave of young soccer talent.
The plan is being dubbed "a long-term development plan and grassroots player engagement" strategy.
The agreement allows for Stompers players to join in on events and training sessions as part of the Windsor TFC Academy.
"As a League1 Ontario program, we sometimes forget the impact our first team players can have on local house league teams," says Vancho Cirovski, president of Windsor TFC. "We aim to change that with the relationship with the LaSalle Soccer Club as well as our other affiliated clubs. This will result in more presence at club events and festivals as well as camps or special training events to foster more passion and interest in our game."
Brian Miles is the president of the LaSalle Stompers SC.
"For our community and four our club, the relationship is a perfect fit," says Miles. "We see value in the affiliation both ways, for our kids to be a little more inspired with the developmental opportunities."
There are over 1,700 players in the LaSalle Stompers Soccer League consisting of about 200 teams across recreational and competitive teams.
Windsor TFC plays in League1 Ontario, the top developmental league in the province and the only professional-amateur level of competition in Ontario.
