Spokesperson Constable Talya Natyshak says having a youth involved in this kind of crime is not common.
"A serious crime like a robbery, with weapons involved isn't extremely usual. Especially when you have several robberies occurring over a short period of time."
Constable Natyshak says the suspect could face serious consequences.
"The Youth Criminal Justice Act, one of the focuses definitely is to get youth back on track so hopefully in this case that is something that we see and we don't see this person again going through the court system. However like I said they will have to answer to these very serious charges."
The suspect is charged with three counts each of robbery and committing an offence wearing a face mask.
