In 2005, four people were killed and 19 were injured when a bus carrying the Wildcats girls hockey team slammed into a transport truck in upstate New York.
Team member Carleigh Weldon told AM800's 'The Lynn Martin Show' that the next days, weeks and years are going to be difficult for those who survived.
"Definitely a lot of mixed emotions" says Weldon. "I mean I'm doing okay, but definitely a lot of heart break for these boys. Definitely."
The crash in Humboldt is also hitting close to home for Windsor Spitfires play-by-play announcer, Mike Miller, who spoke on AM800's 'The Morning Drive.'
"Talk about relating to something. This is my 38th season," explains Miller "I have spent more time on buses than just about anybody that I know, I know there are a few out there, it is something that has not been off of my mind for two days."
The RCMP continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Friday's crash.
