The recently opened Transitional Stability Centre (TSC) in Windsor's downtown is looking to get funding for an upgrade.
Operated by Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare, the centre is a resource for homeless people who are facing addiction issues and mental health concerns.
HDGH President and CEO Janice Kaffer says the main floor is operational, but it is looking to complete the second floor.
Kaffer says they are partnering with other agencies for an application:
"We just submitted a business case to the Local Health Integration Network with three other agencies - we'll leave it confidential for now - for development of that second floor, so what does that 2nd floor need to look like and how do we take that service offered on the main floor and bump it up," she says.
She says the recent federal-provincial accord included a component for mental health care, which she hopes will provide the necessary funding.
