Windsor's Forester is looking to shift gears when it comes to tree trimming.
Paul Giroux says given the current backlog, he would like the city to return to preventative maintenance for 2018.
Right now, the city addresses trees or tree removals as complaints come in.
Giroux says he would like to see trees trimmed every seven years adding that's typically the industry standard.
He says some people have to wait up to a year and a half to have their trees trimmed.
There are currently nine full-time tree trimmers with a capital and operating budget of $1.5-million.
Giroux admits with the preventative maintenance plan, it would mean an increase in the budget.
