A little taste of Mexico is on the way to Windsor.
QDOBA Mexican Eats - one of North America's largest Mexican restaurant chains - is now open.
The "fast-casual" restaurant features the usual Mexican fair where diners can build their own meal, according to General Manager Rod Gonzalez.
He says more than 30 full-time and part-time employees are ready to go at Windsor's first location.
"I'm lucky to have a very committed and enthusiastic team, some of them already knew the brand but some of them are just getting to know the flavours and are trying everything out," he says. "So far I can tell you that we have a very, very committed and talented team."
The closest Canadian location is in London but there are over 700 QDOBA restaurants in North America; several of which are right across the border.
Gonzalez says it will be more convenient for Windsorites that have enjoyed the brand stateside.
He says everything is fresh.
"I can tell you our brand is renowned for having a passion both for customer service and for flavour," says Gonzalez.
QDOBA's grand opening kicks off at 11am at 650 Division Rd.
