The 3000 square foot EOC is on Provincial Road near the 6th Concession.

It's state of the art with a wall of a dozen TV monitors, a separate boardroom and space for close to 50 people to participate in any emergency situation.
It replaces the old EOC, whihc was adapted in a room behind Station 1 on Goyeau Street.
Fire Chief Stephen Laforet says the unique capacity is the ability to pull in all the necessary information on a situation wit media feeds, streams from other city programs and even the city's snowplow tracking system.

Laforet says the amount of space for participants in an emergency is a huge improvement.
"all the key decision makers from all the city departments our community control group and not just city departments, but agencies like Enwin, like Red Cross, like Windsor Utilities, the health unit depending on the emergency" says Laforet.
He says the new EOC is a major advancement that took a lot of planning and marks the first time the city has built an EOC from the ground up.
The new building is designed to survive disasters such as fire, flood, storms and even earthquakes.
Mayor Drew Dilkens joined Chief Laforet and other city officials to cut the ribbon this morning.
In addition to 2 fire trucks, the new Station 6 is the home of the city's Emergency Command Facility truck.
