Windsor's 'Airshow YQG' which had been slated for later this month has been grounded.
Organizers cancelled the show after being notified by the Canadian Forces Snowbirds on Monday that it was cancelling the remainder of its May schedule due to reduced training because of the weather.
As a result, local organizers decided to cancel the entire show which was scheduled for May 27-28.
Show Director Paul McCann says it is unfortunate.
"We are very disappointed," says McCann. "We understand the decision behind it. The snowbirds safety is paramount."
He says with the snowbirds being the main attraction for the show, the entire show has been cancelled.
"We did have other performers, we did have other aircraft on the ground for static viewing but we felt that with this major act not going to be performing that the impact to the show would be too great to continue."
People who had already purchased tickets can get a refund.
McCann says they are going to let the dust settle and hopefully try and have an airshow in the next couple of years.
