Owner Rob Chanko says the restaurant used an autonomous drone and delivered a dish a few blocks away from the restaurant to a customer's home.
He says from calling in the order to arriving on the customer's doorstep, the process took under 20 minutes to complete.
Chanko says it's an exciting opportunity for the restaurant. "We came up with the name "Stir Fly", which is drone delivery of stir fry. We though that was pretty neat, so we said let's investigate the possibilities making this a reality."
Chanko says there is no official launch date. He's still working with Transport Canada on some regulatory details around the use of commercial drones.
The restaurant has already trademarked the name "The Stir Fly."
