A Windsor resident wants to know why city parks in Ward 3 and Ward 4 do not have recycle bins.
Rosanna DeMarco says there are five parks in the wards including the riverfront and they have more than 30 garbage containers, but no recycle bins.
She made a presentation to the city's Environment Standing Committee on Wednesday and feels it's time the city adds the bins.
"We're in 2018 and we know what science is showing us," says DeMarco. "We need to make a change locally so we can think globally."
She says parks need recycle bins.
"Being an environmentalist I enjoy my time outdoors, all this time I've known Jackson Park lacking, Willistead is lacking, Lanspeary is lacking and all the others, all lacking so there for I thought it was time to make a change," says DeMarco.
The cost to install the recycle bins is just under $1700 per bin.

DeMarco says she would like the bins installed sooner rather than later.
"I've been involved in environmentalism, I'd say, my whole life. So I've just grown with the idea that recycle bins are not in our parks yet and I'm very excited for the day they do come which I hope can be tomorrow," says DeMarco.
The committee received the information and it will be discussed at an upcoming city council meeting.
