Windsor Regional Hospital is continuing its response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The hospital, in discussion with the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit, will be opening an Assessment Centre at its Ouellette campus starting Monday morning at 9am.
The centre will have its own entrance and be segregated from the rest of the emergency department.
Hospital officials say the goal of the Assessment Centre is to "build community capacity to respond to individuals experiencing symptoms which could be caused by COVID-19."
Walk-ins are not encouraged — if you think you've contracted the COVID-19 virus you should call your family doctor, the health unit at 519-258-2146 or Telehealth at 1-866-797-0000 which will then give you further instructions.
Attending the Assessment Centre does not mean you will be automatically tested for the virus.
There are currently no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Windsor-Essex.
