The Windsor Regional Environment Council is echoing concerns raised by Windsor officials about the future of high speed rail from London to Windsor.
In a news release, the council questions whether the Liberals believe Ontario stops at London.
The council shares concerns that the promised phase 2 of the project, the dotted line between London and Windsor, will not happen by the proposed deadline of 2031.
The council believes the environmental assessment should include upgrading and using the present rail tunnel under the Detroit River to link with Amtrak and the 30-million people in Michigan and Illinois.
As AM800 News told you earlier this week, Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens voiced concerns during Monday's city council meeting with the latest report from the Ontario group conducting the Environmental Assessment and review of the project.
