The donated goods include food and special packages for homeless women
A downtown agency that helps the homeless community is getting a helping hand.
Realtor Rick Rose delivered a large number of items to Street Help on Wyandotte St. East as well as more than 100 pizzas.
Rose says he felt he wanted to help an agency that does such good work.
"Supplying a little bit of materials and food, these people do an incredible job and it's a thankless job. It was just time that I felt we needed to step in and help out a little bit and kind of give back."
He says the pizzas will ease the load on the volunteers who would be cooking meals.
"The people who are going to enjoy these goods absolutely need it. But also the people who work here, it's a tireless job and they don't get much thanks. So this is just my way of saying here's a little help for the people and to the people who work here, thank-you."
Street Help Executive Director Christine Wilson says donations like this one are great.
"This is what keeps me having faith in our community. When a gift like this happens for all of us and it puts a lot of smiles, not just on the client's faces but on ours to know that people out there truly love and care for us."
