Windsor continues to be a busy city for U-Haul.
The city ranks 14th in the company's Top 50 Canadian destination cities for 2018.
Spokesperson David Anstett says last year, Windsor had 5% year-over-year drop in one-way U-Haul truck arrivals.
He says despite the drop, people are still using U-Haul to move to the city.
"We're still seeing a lot of families moving to Windsor and there's a lot of new jobs so we're seeing a lot of young people moving down here as well," says Anstett. "Use to be a few years ago, there was a lot of retirees but we're seeing some positive things with families and young moving down, smaller trucks."
He says in 2017, Windsor was ranked 15th.
"We compare how we give the previous year against move-ins and move-outs and we compare them city by city but I'm very pro-Windsor and I'm pleased at how Windsor's growing," says Anstett. "We got our regional office based in Windsor. We look after south-western Ontario from here and we're positive on Windsor."
The number one destination city will be announced on June 28th.
U-Haul destination centres are ranked by the total number of arriving one-way U-Haul truck rentals to a city in the past calendar year.
