A slight drop for the city of Windsor as U-Haul has released its top 50 Canadian destination cities for 2017.
Windsor has come in at number 15, a one spot dip from 2016.
U-Haul President for Western Ontario, David Anstett says it's hard to say why Windsor had a slight drop. "We got few less people moving to Windsor, retirees but we still have quite a few coming down here," says Anstett. "Everyday I hear about someone else that's moving here to live, to retire and come to Windsor. "Also we have a lot of young people to move here for jobs."
U-Haul says the city saw a year-over-year decrease of 8% in one-way U-Haul truck arrivals in 2017. But did remain one of the busiest cites for incoming traffic among do it yourself movers.
Anstett says people are still moving to Windsor despite the drop. "I see a lot of positive in Windsor and a lot of people are positive about coming here so we are gaining overall and maybe it is a slight drop but I still feel pretty positive about Windsor," says Anstett.
The number one destination city will be announced on June 29th.
U-Haul destination centres are ranked by the total number of arriving one-way U-Haul truck rentals to a city in the past calendar year.
