The Windsor Public Library has some money left over from its 2018 budget.
Administration announced Tuesday at the board of directors meeting that the library has a nearly $220,000 surplus, the result of budget savings.

CEO Kitty Pope points to a few factors.
"Part of it reflects our staffing usages and our casual call-ins," says Pope. "So if staff are sick, we're calling in more folks and the other thing is just good management. We had an easy fall, so we didn't have as many snow plows to clean out our parking lots and stuff like that."
Windsor Public Library's 2018 operating budget was more than $18.6 million.
Pope says the money will be put into a reserve and could be used to help with renovations, building new libraries and adding to the collection.
"Anytime we renovate or build a new library, we'll want to build more collections," she says . "We'll want to put new furniture in those libraries so that money will be well used."
