A group of close to a dozen protesters are hoping they've sent a message to the Doug Ford government.
The supporters of the "15 and Fairness" campaign want Bill 47 stopped.
That's the bill that holds the minimum wage to $14 an hour.
Protest organizer Mario Spagnuolo - with the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario - says they've met with Chatham-Kent-Leamington MPP Rick Nicholls.
He says there's more than the minimum wage the bill will eliminate.
"One of the concerns is the cut to the two paid sick days that are available through the legislation and also the requirement for employees to have to get a doctors note if they take one day of sick for cold or flu."
Spagnuolo says the Ford government's pledge to review the minimum wage is not enough.
"What would be adequate would be to leave the legislation as it is and then review it for improvements. What this bill does - Bill 47 - it actually brings us back, it's regressive in nature. What we want to see is some progress to the minimum standards the employment standards in Ontario."

He says people need to get involved quickly to make a difference.
"We believe that the Ford government is trying to ram through this legislation without proper consultation. Rumour is it might be passed by the end of the month. We believe that we need thorough discussion on this and we want the public to be aware that this is going to bring us back a few years instead of forward."
Spagnuolo adds the three local New Democrat members are in support of stopping Bill 47 as well.
The proposed legislation is intended to gut the former Liberal government's increase of the minimum wage to $15 an hour starting in January.
