If you are a grandparent in Windsor, you're being told to listen up.
Windsor police have received a number of calls regarding a fraud known as the "Grandparent Scam".
It involves a grandparent receiving a call from someone claiming to be their grandchild. The caller says there is an emergency, for example, that they are in the hospital, have been arrested or are in another urgent situation and need money quickly. The caller also asks the grandparent not to mention anything to their parents.
Police say this is a scam and the grandparent needs to take their time and confirm the situation before sending money.
