Windsor Police to Resume Search for a Man in the Detroit River

Officers received a call Saturday night that a man was seen jumping into the Detroit River

Windsor police say the marine unit will be back on the Detroit River this morning to search for a man who was seen jumping into the water.

Officers were called to the riverfront around 10 p.m. Saturday for a call that a male was seen jumping into the river near the foot of Ouellette Avenue.

The Windsor Police Service and the Coast Guard were called in to search, but nobody was located.

The rescue effort was called off in the early morning hours and resumed Sunday morning.

Police called off the search again Sunday night and say the marine unit will be back out again this morning.
