The Windsor Police Service has honoured their colleagues who have passed away.
In its 27th annual Memorial-Appreciation Service, they honoured police officers who died in the past year as well as those who have died in the line of duty.
Red and white roses were placed on the alter to remember them.
"May time never erase the sacrifices that were made," said Windsor Police Service Chaplain Greg Bonin.
Chief Al Frederick says police officers build a special bond while on the job.
"There is a recognition within the police services that we have significant challenges each and every day and we overcome them by sticking together, friendship and working so closely with our community," says Chief Frederick.

Following the mass, the officers were treated to a light lunch.
It kicks off a week long celebration to mark 150 years of the Windsor Police Service.
