The victim is in the hospital receiving treatment

One person is  in hospital after pulled from the Detroit River early Tuesday morning.

About 3:15am, police got a call from a man saying he was in the river at the foot of Church St. near Dieppe Gardens.

Police arrived and began a search and, by a stroke of luck they say, spotted a hand clinging to the breakwall.

It appears he went over the railing but got hung up.

While several officers hung onto him, others went in the water to get him un-hooked.

He's now in the hospital receiving treatment and undergoing an assessment.
