The Windsor Police Service is reporting very few problems since the legalization of marijuana.
The recreational use of pot officially became legal October 17.
In the 10 days since then, Chief Al Frederick says what he expected to happen, is happening.
"Our community, our police officers are very respectful of each other and our community has responded in kind," says Frederick.
He says there have been very few problems since legalization.
"There have been four calls for service related to cannabis, all were nuisance type calls and none that we {Windsor Police} responded to," says Frederick.
With marijuana only available online in Ontario, the chief says they're not seeing what they're seeing in other communities that offer retail storefront sales.
"I have not seen anybody smoking marijuana in a public place or anything," says Frederick. "So I think it's almost a non-issue up until this time. There doesn't seem to be a lot of issues with it."
Windsor police have conducted several RIDE checks since marijuana became legal and only one ticket has been issued for drug impaired driving.
