Windsor Police have announced who will lead the Amherstburg detachment when it takes over policing service in the town.
Staff Sergeant Dave DeLuca, a lifelong Amherstburg resident, will be in charge starting January 1st.
DeLuca was hired in 1995 as a cadet and has worked in a number of areas including Forensic Identification, Drug Enforcement along with the Street Crimes Unit and most recently, the Special Projects Unit working on transition for the Amherstburg Detachment.
Being from the town, DeLuca knows the community and has a first-hand understanding of concerns and expectations.
He says "It is a privilege to be chosen as the Officer in Charge of the new Amherstburg Detachment of the Windsor Police Service and to be part of this milestone moment for the town of Amherstburg. I look forward to the opportunity to work in my hometown and continue the tradition of exceptional police service that the residents have come to expect and enjoy."
