Windsor police will be making sure Monday night's fireworks are safe ones.
The Ford Fireworks are set to go off tonight at 9:55 p.m., but road closures in the downtown core will begin at 6 p.m.
Roads north of Wyandotte St. between the Ambassador Bridge and Devonshire Rd. will be closed to ensure public safety.

In previous years, Windsor Police Sgt. Steve Betteridge says this has always been a fun safe night for families.
"Our officers know for the most part what to expect and our community and even repeat visitors know what to expect so all of that helps," he says.
Along with street closures, Betteridge says additional officers will be downtown.
"You will see a very high visual police presence, we are going to have uniform officers down in the area on foot, on bicycle, some in marked cruisers," he says.
No alcohol is allowed within the road closure areas.
Free bicycle parking will be available at Charles Clark Square from 7pm to 11:30pm, courtesy of the Windsor Bicycling Committee.
A free bus service will operate from Devonshire Mall to downtown from 6pm to about 9:30pm. Return buses will start at the end of fireworks.
