WINDSOR — A Windsor police cruiser sustained minor damages after being struck by an unhitched trailer.
On Friday, March 6th around 4:15am, officers responded to a break and enter call in the 700 block of Tecumseh Rd E near Howard Ave.
When officers arrived, they saw a red Jeep Cherokee with an attached trailer in the area.
According to police, officers attempted to stop the vehicle but it fled.
Police say while it was fleeing the trailer became unhitched and hit a cruiser.
A short pursuit occurred but was stopped due to public and officer safety.
The investigation determined the suspect involved in the break and enter and the suspect who fled was the same person.
The suspect was identified and arrested the same day around 1pm in the 300 block of Wyandotte St E.
35-year-old Jason Jackson of no fixed address is facing six charges including break and enter, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and fail to stop after accident.
The investigation also revealed the Jeep was stolen and items inside the trailer were taken from a separate incident that took place in the 1000 block of Marion Ave on Thursday March 5th around 11:45pm.
