The LCBO and Ministry of Finance have identified 14 cities to receive a cannabis outlet.
Windsor is on the list of cities to be selected for the initial round of stores to be operated by the board.
Over the coming weeks, staff from the Ministry of Finance and the LCBO will meet with staff at the identified municipalities to discuss the guidelines and process for siting stores and local interests.
The guidelines will achieve our objectives of protecting youth by ensuring stores are not in close proximity to schools, while providing access within communities and addressing the illegal market.
Once a store site is identified there will be a public consultation.
Barrie, Brampton, Hamilton, Kingston, Kitchener, London, Mississauga, Ottawa, Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury, Thunder Bay, Toronto and Vaughan are the other sites for the initial store locations.
