A Massey High School grad is getting the chance of a lifetime.
Jacob Robson is heading to the Detroit Tigers' Spring Training Camp in a few weeks.
Robson is in Florida currently training with Team Canada for a Pan Am Games qualifying tournament in Brazil.
Speaking on the Morning Drive on AM800, Robson says it's an amazing opportunity to compete with such talented people.
Robson says this is like a dream come true.
"I've played since I was a little kid and you know baseball wasn't always my number one priority but I think I always grew up watching the Tigers and part of me always wanted to play for them"
He doesn't know if he'll make the Major League team this year.
"The fact that this is slowly but surely in my opinion happening, it's just surreal so just to be able to to put on that uniform with the old English 'D' every day is awesome"
Robson says the Tigers have been pretty tight lipped about what their plans are for him.
"I don't know if I'm going to make the team out of spring, I don't know if that's what they have in store for me. But I know that if I play as hard as possible and do all the things I'm capable of doing and be myself, and not try to be anybody else I think I'll put myself in a great spot"
Robson is currently playing outfield for the Toledo Mud Hens.
He was drafted by the Tigers in the 8th round in the 2016 entry draft.
