A Windsor man has been sentenced to 3.5 years in prison for a fatal crash caused by texting and driving.
In July 2015, 24-year-old David Cassady stuck a motorcycle driven by 66-year old Donald Russell on the EC Row Expressway killing Russell.
Cassady pleaded guilty earlier this week to criminal negligence causing death.
He admitted to witnesses at the scene of the crash that he was texting and didn't see the motorcycle.
Although alcohol was in his system, a charge of impaired driving causing death was withdrawn.
Court heard Cassady was driving 190km/hour before the crash
