A Windsor man has been sentenced to nine months in jail in an horrific assault case in Windsor.
Cody Carrington, 28, pleaded guilty to assault with a weapon. More serious charges of aggravated assault and another charge of assault with a weapon were withdrawn.
Back in May, police were called to the 1000 block of Lincoln Rd. where they found a 19-year-old woman suffering from several non-life threatening injuries.
Police determined the woman was assaulted in an apartment unit located on University Ave. East.
Carrington's lawyer Frank Retar says his client pled guilty to the "lesser role he played" in the assault which allegedly took place over four days.
He says his client was only in the residence for one afternoon.
One witness who came across the crime scene at the time told AM800 News, the victim's hair was cut off, she had huge gashes on the back of her neck and head, and had bb gun pellets all over her body.
The case against five other suspects is still before the courts.
With time already served, Carrington has less than 60 days left in his sentence.
