A 25-year-old Windsor man has been given a conditional discharge and 15 months probation for an attack on his dog last November. Brian Robinet-Davey has pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary pain, suffering or injury to an animal.
Court was told he hit his dog several times with a piece of aluminum eavestroughing after it ran away from his west-end home. Neighbours witnessed the attack and called police.
Robinet-Davey's lawyer, Anthony Barile, says the conviction is registered but his client will have no criminal record. "The conditional discharge means that he will have to fulfill several conditions for the court before he receives the benefit of the conditional discharge. Primarily, he is to attend for counselling for anger management."
Robinet-Davey has also been ordered to perform 60 hours of community service and can't possess or purchase a dog while on probation.
